New world record for the Mazda MX-5

Mazda world record

Mazda and the help of their fleet of MX-5’s have successfully completed a new entry in to the Guinness Book of World Records™ at the MAX-5 2013 event on Saturday 15th June in Lelystad, Netherlands.

The all new record of longest parade of driving Mazdas has been now set to 683 completely smashing the previous record of 459 which had been set in Germany, 2010. An astounding total number of 1450 participants made this result possible.

The spectacular parade was led by a stunning version of a third generation racing MX-5 model in tow with Dutch TV presenter Allard Kalff and President and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe Jeff Guyton, who later received the record certificate.

To finish off the successful day, approximately 250 cars joined up to create a huge drive in cinema; where the chosen film Arbitrage, was decided by the drivers casting their votes with the sound of their horn.
